Arrest Records in Greensville County
The Greensville County Sheriff's Office is the main county law-enforcement agency. Virginia State Police can also make arrests on state highways or during statewide investigations. The sheriff publishes no separately named Records Division, local copy-fee schedule, arrest-report form, or dedicated FOIA portal. Its official contact page, email, fax at 434-634-9615, phone, mail, and in-person office are the documented starting points. Label a written message “Virginia FOIA request,” describe the arrest record with reasonable detail, state the preferred format, and ask for an estimate before chargeable work begins. People affected by an offense can also use Virginia's official victim-services gateway to locate the proper service program.
Arrest Records: What They Contain
A Greensville County booking entry focuses on identity, custody, and the charge known at intake. It can include the fields below when public display is authorized. Medical, mental-health, victim, juvenile, protective-custody, and security-sensitive housing details are not part of the public result. The arresting-agency report is different. It can describe time, place, probable cause, officer actions, people involved, and property or evidence. Active-investigation, victim, juvenile, and other protected details may be withheld or redacted. The court file is different again because it tracks the charge after prosecution begins.
Greensville County Bookings Reach CCRE
For a reportable Greensville County arrest, the arresting agency takes fingerprints and photographs as authorized by Virginia Code § 19.2-392. VSP says a person disputing an entry should contact the arresting agency first. That source agency must correct the data it originally supplied. VSP does not provide the underlying arrest report. If the problem is a missing disposition, collect the court case number and certified outcome before approaching the source agency.

An arrest says that an agency took a person into custody under legal authority. It does not say that a court found guilt. A conviction is a judgment entered after a guilty plea or trial. Virginia's felony-class statute and misdemeanor-class statute set punishment ranges, but the filed or amended court charge controls the case path.
